Michael grew up in South Tyrol in the Alps and studied Directing in London. He is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents and winner of the top-award at Racconti Development Lab. His debut feature ZWEITLAND (A LAND WITHIN) was nominated for the CineCoPro Award as Best International Co-Production at Filmfest Munich 2025. The film was competing in the International Competition of Kolkata International Film Festival 2025, where it was nominated for Best Film and Best Director. A LAND WITHIN had its North American Premiere at Palm Springs International Film Festival 2026. Michael has won the Bavarian Film Award 2026 for Best Newcomer Director for A LAND WITHIN. Michael has bases in Munich, London and South Tyrol.
